Serenbe founder Steve Nygren believes that if you want to change the world, start in your own backyard. The vision for the community of Serenbe was born in an effort to protect the beautiful rural land just 25 miles south of Atlanta known as Chattahoochee Hill Country. The first house at Serenbe was built in 2004 and today the community is home to over 700 residents.
Life at Serenbe
Serenbe is a place you can enjoy for a meal, a weekend or call home for a lifetime. Each of Serenbe's hamlets have complimentary commercial centers focused on the elements of a well-lived life: arts for inspiration, agriculture for nourishment, health for wellbeing, education for awareness and play for fulfillment. Serenbe and Steve Nygren have won numerous awards including the Urban Land Institute Inaugural Sustainability Award, the Atlanta Regional Commission "Development of Excellence," and the Southface Argon Award for being an individual that leads the way in advancing sustainability. EarthCraft also named Serenbe the "Development of the Year," and Steve was named "Leader in Innovation" at the 2017 Global Wellness Summit.
Step inside Serenbe homes, take a seat at the table for an artists' dinner or shop small at a locally-owned business. Take a peek in the Serenbe Hamlet and you'll see, the best reason to live here is the life here.
